We build cool. This year, we judged it.

INSTORE Magazine has revealed the winners of America’s Coolest Stores 2026 — and our own Karen Estrada sat on the judging panel for the Small Cool division.

Twenty-seven years of planning jewelry stores across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean gives you a particular eye. You stop looking at the finishes and start looking at the decisions underneath them — why a case sits where it does, why a customer slows down at one corner and walks past another.
That’s the eye INSTORE asked Karen to bring to this year’s contest. Congratulations to every store that entered — and to the two that took it.
Then it continues directly into the section I cleaned up before:

The Scorecard
What the judges looked for.
01 — Physical Appearance
Does the room hold up at eye level and at arm’s length? Fixtures, lighting, flow, finish.
02 — Brand Narrative
A store that tells you who it is before anyone says a word.
03 — Marketing Excellence
The build and the message pulling in the same direction, in the store and everywhere else.
04 — Individuality
The thing no one else can copy. Usually the reason a store wins.
Three of those four start on a drawing. That’s the part we can help with.
Next Year’s Entry
The store you enter is the store you build first.
Entries for the next round open this fall, with a March 15 deadline. If a renovation, a case refresh, or a full buildout is somewhere on your 2027 calendar, now is the right time to start drawing.
